DEFENSIVE RIFLE

our mission

This is not an entry-level firearms course.

This class requires that the student knows basic handling and manipulations and expands on the knowledge base learned in basic rifles. Shooters will need to be proficient in basic rifle manipulations. It is recommended that the student bring knee pads, elbow pads, and suitable footwear for movement.


During this course, you will learn firearms safety, mechanical offset at various distances, malfunction clearances, and conventional and unconventional shooting positions. The student will also work on rifle tactics, shooting with movement, speed, and positions utilizing cover.

 

Additional topics include multiple target engagements, shooting positions, and advanced manipulations.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

  • Cover basic rifle nomenclature

  • Understanding Rifle Parts

  • Discussion of types of accessories

  • Zeroing

  • Shooting positions

  • Discuss and assist students with optics

  • Cover Basic Maintenance

  • Discuss differences in types of bullets.

  • Sling set up

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • Rifle 

  • 150 rounds minimum

  • FMJ

    •  no steel core, steel jacketed, bi-metal jacket, or steel cased, Incendiary or tracers

    • (can be purchased at the range)

  • Eyes and Ear Protection

  • Close-toed Shoes

  • Suggested long pants

  • Eat prior, Snacks and food (optional)

  • two magazines minimum
